Hi!

I hope you've recovered from Thanksgiving cooking and all that mad rush of shopping.  Maybe you were really wise and stayed out of it!  :)  I didn't participate either.

We're doing good here in Warwick, good in Cordele, praising the Lord and being thankful for what we have and WHO we know!  Unfortunately, I had a Saturday of depression sneak in and I think I have the answer for how it happened.  That's what today's message is about.

I want to thank my friend in England, Mary, who sent me the song that I sent to each of you in the ecard.  It was lovely!

If you didn't get it, you can find it here:  http://www.123greetings.com/events/thanksgiving/prayers/reasons_bless_the_lord.html

I also hope to introduce you to someone new soon, Mercy Maxwell, who has studied Hebrew and the feast days and even dancing with banners!  She is delightful and will inspire you to new heights of worship and blessings.

That's what this is all about isn't it?  We're here for a short time, we usually don't know what we're doing or where we're going.  We keep asking WHY and WHAT am I supposed to do Lord?  In the end all that matters is that we know the ONE we serve, (Jesus) and that we really do seek to serve Him with all our hearts.  To love God the Father with every ounce of our being, BECAUSE He first loved us and gave us SO much.

So why do we love Him?  You won't love Him much until you discover what you've been rescued from and why you needed Him to begin with.  It becomes clearer the closer you get to the edge.  To that moment of death when we stop caring about who won the football game and how much will we get in our income tax refunds.  (Well, maybe some of us will care about that to the last breath, but....)   Ha ha

So... here is a great opening verse.

“And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17 AMP

Precious Believers, my dear friends, sisters and brothers in Christ:

YOU ARE LOVED!  YOU ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD!  YOU ARE PRECIOUS IN HIS SIGHT!

I have just been through another day or two of deep depression and I know that several of you are under attack as well.  I want to spare you this misery and give you a shortcut to immediate help.  You might think it’s not a spiritual problem; it’s a relationship or need for more money, or a break from your kids for a while.

You’re trying to fix the situation yourself, or you believe you SHOULD be able to find the solution and do something about it, right?  No, you can’t do anything about it at all in the natural.  You have to approach it spiritually with wisdom and discernment, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you out.

Because we’re still in the flesh we’re still subject to the laws of this planet.  The laws of gravity, thrust, drag, growth, decay etc.  These are physical laws, but there are spiritual laws also.  Those are the laws of death that came upon man when he sinned, and that the Laws of Moses (the commandments) enforced even harder.  The law brought death because man COULD NOT and never will be able to keep them.  We ALWAYS mess up.  Where the law is, sin abounds and therefore death reigns.

Romans 7:8  …For without the Law sin is dead [the sense of it is inactive and a lifeless thing].

9 Once I was alive, but quite apart from and unconscious of the Law. But when the commandment came, sin lived again and I died (was sentenced by the Law to death).

10 And the very legal ordinance which was designed and intended to bring life actually proved [to mean to me] death.

11 For sin, seizing the opportunity and getting a hold on me [by taking its incentive] from the commandment, beguiled and entrapped and cheated me, and using it [as a weapon], killed me.

12 The Law therefore is holy, and [each] commandment is holy and just and good.

Thank God that He gave us the new law that supersedes the one of sin and death.  That law is called the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus.

Romans 7: Likewise, my brethren, you have undergone death as to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that now you may belong to Another, to Him Who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.

5 When we were living in the flesh (mere physical lives), the sinful passions that were awakened and aroused up by [what] the Law [makes sin] were constantly operating in our natural powers (in our bodily organs, in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh), so that we bore fruit for death.

6 But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under [obedience to] the old code of written regulations, but [under obedience to the promptings] of the Spirit in newness [of life].

We gained freedom from the law of sin and death by believing in Jesus’ sacrifice for us that redeemed us from the old kingdom into God’s kingdom.  This doesn’t mean the old laws disappear, they’re still there operating.  But we replace them with our verbal use of God’s word, speaking out loud the new law of LIFE in Christ Jesus – God’s Word on a particular subject.  This is how we move mountains.

Pastor Stan today described it as a plane taking off from earth.  It is held down by gravity, and the law of gravity doesn’t let go because the plane tries to fly.  The pilot uses other laws that supersede gravity, such as the law of lift and thrust and drag.  With these other laws, the impossible happens.  The plane flies!!

When the pilot wants to land and be earthbound again, he leans OFF the application of those other laws and gravity takes over again, bringing the plane down to earth.

If you have not yet made sure you’re born again, ASK God in prayer to forgive you and place you in Jesus’ flock of believers.  It’s so simple.  Admit you’re a sinner; that you need a savior, that Jesus is the one who was born sinless and died to take your place on the cross.  ALL of your sins were put on Him, and He gave you His righteousness (right standing with God) in exchange, because you have believed that HE IS THE ONE who was sent to do this.  Ask to be saved, and you shall be, with a commitment to follow Jesus for the rest of your life.

That’s not all you have to do though to enjoy the benefits of being saved.  The most important thing you have to do is learn God’s words, His promises to us, and speak them out loud often, PROCLAIMING them over our lives so that as we walk, we step INTO or ONTO those promises and are lifted above the laws that are at work in this world.

(Imagine your words flowing out of your mouth as a golden carpet that you then walk on, to walk INTO the blessed ease of God’s kingdom.)

It’s not natural to do this.  We fail often.  But I’ve found the secret to why we’re miserable and not enjoying the full power of God’s grace that we should be.  We have to ON PURPOSE “DO” this proclaiming and “muttering out loud” God’s words all day in prayer and thanksgiving.

Not as a chore or a burden, but as our protection, our uplift, our power charging actions that take us above the natural laws of the planet.

The apostles suffered from this problem too.  Paul said that what he did not want to do, he still did, and what he wanted to do, he had great trouble doing.  The laws of nature towards death and decay on this planet are fierce and they don’t go away just because we are "enlightened".

Romans 7:15   For I do not understand my own actions [I am baffled, bewildered]. I do not practice or accomplish what I wish, but I do the very thing that I loathe [which my moral instinct condemns].

16 Now if I do [habitually] what is contrary to my desire, [that means that] I acknowledge and agree that the Law is good (morally excellent) and that I take sides with it.

17 However, it is no longer I who do the deed, but the sin [principle] which is at home in me and has possession of me.

18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]

19 For I fail to practice the good deeds I desire to do, but the evil deeds that I do not desire to do are what I am [ever] doing.

20 Now if I do what I do not desire to do, it is no longer I doing it [it is not myself that acts], but the sin [principle] which dwells within me [fixed and operating in my soul].

21 So I find it to be a law (rule of action of my being) that when I want to do what is right and good, evil is ever present with me and I am subject to its insistent demands.

22 For I endorse and delight in the Law of God in my inmost self [with my new nature].

23 But I discern in my bodily members [in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh] a different law (rule of action) at war against the law of my mind (my reason) and making me a prisoner to the law of sin that dwells in my bodily organs [in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh].

24 O unhappy and pitiable and wretched man that I am! Who will release and deliver me from [the shackles of] this body of death?

25 O thank God! [He will!] through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) our Lord! So then indeed I, of myself with the mind and heart, serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Yes!  Thank God that we don’t have to ever worry about this again!  When we mess up and do wrong, or when we fail to live up to God’s expectations, when things go wrong IN our lives, we don’t have to beat ourselves up and stay away from God in shame.

Romans 8:1   Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

3 For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],

Can you see how self-condemnation keeps you trapped in the law of sin and death?  If you judge yourself guilty, you HAVE to be punished.  If you judge yourself forgiven by Christ’s blood, you are forever FREE.

Pastor Stan talked about the 23rd Psalm today.  He went over it line by line and it was FANTASTIC.  He said that valley of the shadow of death refers to the place we hover in that's between the mountain of Sinai where the law was given and the mountain of Zion where Jesus gives us Grace and we're forgiven!  We get started to believe in our freedom and get rid of our self condemnation, but then we sometimes fall backwards and head back out into the wilderness towards the law and death.  But the verse says that EVEN when we're walking in that valley we need not fear any evil because He's with us and that staff is there to pull us gently back to the right mountain!  Praise God!

So being saved and walking “IN THE SPIRIT” means that we operate at a higher level than when we’re not conscious of what God’s put in place for us.

God forbid that we make Christ’s sacrifice of no effect!  That’s what Paul said we are doing when we attempt to live under even one tiny portion of the laws, even the 10 commandments!!!  They were part of the Law, so they are superseded also.

JESUS GAVE US JUST TWO COMMANDMENTS TO FOLLOW.  To love God with all our hearts, and to love our fellow man as we love ourselves.  He said on those two things hang the whole of the law and the words of the prophets.

You see, it’s about BEING CONSTANTLY AWARE of the blessings.  Being constantly aware of how precious you are to God and how WONDERFUL Jesus is.  Everything about what Jesus did for us is wonderful and loving and there is NO condemnation coming from God towards us who believe in Him as our savior!

Most of us gentiles have a slight disadvantage.  We don’t know Hebrew.  I have been told that in the Hebrew language the words of God are so much deeper and richer, and their meaning more absolute and alive.  Where we feebly say “May God bless you”, God Himself said “I SHALL bless you”.  Where we ask timidly for His provision, He declares emphatically “I SHALL provide for you!”

Everything God has promised could be underlined, set in bold print with an exclamation mark after it, because it is His will and His Word and it is forever!

We have been taught an error for thousands of years.  Preachers and popes have told us that we have to do what we can for ourselves or God won’t do for us.  They said a bunch of things that Jesus never said.  Mostly to get us to work and pay taxes and tributes to them.

God said to depend completely on Him. To go to Him when we want to make a decision, and inquire of Him.  Ask for wisdom.  To go to Him when we’re hungry.  To go to Him when we are in need or afraid or in danger.  He said He SHALL deliver us and provide for us if we depend on Him.

The moment we try to do it for ourselves, He pulls back and allows us to discover again, that we can’t make it on our own.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go do your dream.  The husband of a friend of mine is buying a car to start his own taxi service, rather than the job he has now working for someone else.  He carefully thought about it, and inquired of the Lord.  Both he and his wife prayed and felt God was moving them in this direction.  They are listening for the guidance of the Lord so that He can move them into position for great blessings and more profit.

Today’s message from Pastor Joseph Prince was so encouraging!  He said to cast our nets out into the deep water, so that God can bless us.  We have to leave the comfort of the shoreline to find the best and most fish.

But if we don’t consult God first, we could be making a horrible mistake.

So, if you’re depressed, in need, wondering why God’s power is not there with you, here is the procedure you need to immediately follow!

1:  Make sure you are saved and being obedient to God’s Word to the best of your ability.  Much of our problems are because we’re being rebellious and trying to do things OUR way and not as God would have us do it.  The 10 commandments are a good source of info on how to live and how NOT to live.  Psalm 91 and the 23rd Psalm give us instruction also, to depend completely on Him.

2:  Praise the Lord often, daily, throughout the day, loudly and with songs, clapping and dancing.  The more you praise, the more demons and trouble you praise away.  Praise also invites God into your presence.  It is written, God inhabits the praises of His people.

We’re told to enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.

3:  Speak His word promises out loud daily, as you go, wherever you go.  Teach them to your children and speak of them often.  You are literally PAVING your next step with protection and provision if you do this.  (Take your favorite verses from the Faith Confessions on my website or any scripture that applies to your situation that you want to be true in your life.)

Staying constantly in prayer is closely related.  You could say that speaking the Word out loud is a form of prayer.

4:  Be aware that the enemy is after you, seeking to destroy you and everything God loves.  He is looking for your weakest point and he knows more about you than you do.  You CANNOT protect yourself completely on your own, that’s why God’s word gives us an example of the armor of God.  Be dressed for battle at all times.

Ephesians 6: 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

14 Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

15 And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].

17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

5:  Talk amongst yourselves about the goodness of the Lord and keep a record of what He’s done for you.  Keep the praises of the Lord and songs on your lips and reinforce and encourage each other with the Word and with your testimony.

Songs of praise are actually weapons of battle and when you speak them, what the spirits hear is the unbearable clashing of swords and the righteous thrust of God’s army into their ranks, causing them to flee in utter fear!

If you fear that your voice is small or off key, faulty in every way, don’t be misled by what your earthly ears hear.  The faith words you speak in this body on earth, is perceived in the spirit world as a mighty blast and a holy fire.

6:  USE THE NAME OF JESUS!  It is your authority, your banner, your entitlement certificate to victory!  Jesus bought back your birthright and put His name on it as the seal of authenticity.  Satan cannot come against His name!  His blood bought your freedom and the heavenly court granted you this inheritance and entrance into the kingdom of God.  Never forget the power that the name of Jesus has!

Demons run from it!  Sickness evaporates under it.  Pain flees when you sing it with joy.

7:  Remember that your strength is in your JOY of the Lord.  Activate it.  Rejoice always!  There is power in laughter!  I have seen demons flee from a tiny giggle!  Laughter equates to confidence in the Lord.  When you are NOT confident and you’re in worry, you know how hard it is to laugh or find anything funny!  They are opposites.  So use JOY as a weapon and a holy medicine.  (Scripture says laughter is medicine.  It also says the Word is healing to your flesh.)

Here is today’s message from Joseph Prince.  I hope it blesses you!

God bless you my friends, and remember we’re not fighting a battle against men but against the powers of Satan and if we remember that God already has won the victory, it will be so much easier to defeat our enemy and drive him out of our lives.  The suffering that we must endure is NOT from these things he tries to put on us, but from persecution for believing in Jesus.  ALL other troubles fall under the authority of Jesus and can be defeated!

Write soon.

Launch Out Into The Deep

By Joseph Prince

    Luke 5:4

4When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

God wants to bless you — big-time! It was for this reason that He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” The deep is where you will find a whole lot of fish. You won’t find them near the shore in shallow waters. But to launch out into the deep is to move away from the comfort of the shoreline.

My friend, God wants you to break away from your comfort zone and step out in faith to do what He has put in your heart. It may be something simple, but which you have never done before or only dreamt of, like attending a care group. A church member did just that and found love. Today, she is happily married.

Now, our Lord Jesus who said, “Launch out into the deep…” also said, “… let down your nets for a catch.” Notice that He used the plural “nets” and not the singular “net”. Beloved, God wants to give you more than what you need. His dream for you is bigger than anything you can ever dream of. Dream big and God will exceed your dream because He delights in giving you exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

Another church member who was formerly working for someone else had wanted to start his own company. When praying with him, I received a word from the Lord for him to launch out on his own. When he did that, he made a handsome profit at the end of the first month alone! Today, he has more than one company and his businesses are flourishing. God is blessing him beyond his wildest dreams!

Beloved, God wants to bless you beyond your wildest dreams. He did it for Simon who was astonished at the size of the catch of fish. (Luke 5:9) But it was not until Simon launched out into the deep that he ended up with the net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish. (Luke 5:6–7) You, too, will be astonished at your catch when you step out of your comfort zone and launch out into the deep with the Lord!

To God be the praise and glory!  In Jesus’ name I send out this teaching and ask that the Word bless and heal all who read or hear it.

God bless you all.
