So many
movies and books parallel things in the Bible, or things that we wish for in
our lives that can only be carried out by Jesus. For
instance, we have Superman who whisks his girlfriend Lois Lane off her balcony
and flies her around the world to have dinner in Paris or visit his ice palace
home that no one else can visit. Piers
Anthony, a famous sci fi and fantasy author wrote a trilogy about another world
that was waiting for the Son of God to return.
(Juxtaposition, The Blue Adept etc.)
Although he wrote about magicians and sun gods, the parallel to
Revelation and the Messiah was unmistakable.
Humans just
have that desire to be reunited with God and experience all His wonders
hardwired in our brains! For me it
would be flying away with Jesus for a cozy meal on a beautiful mountain
top. Not cold, but green and overlooking
glorious rivers and soft meadows. Maybe
visiting the serene temples of Tibet, or even walking with Him amongst the cafés
and shops of Paris, or the castles in Scotland or England! We will have
Him with us always and I’m sure we’ll be able to do things together like this. But the most wonderful place of all to spend
our time comes from this verse in Psalms.
It’s my desire. Psalms 27:4 One thing
have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the
house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD,
and to inquire in his temple. His
temple! The sanctuary of God, where His
presence dwells. Where the Holiest of
Holies lives! We're so
blessed that God's temple is now INSIDE OF US, that He dwells with us and dines
with us daily! We enjoy this verse every
single day as we think of Him. We
"sup" with Him as we feed on His words and His love. :) What a
beautiful thought. I have always loved
that the apostle John ("whom Jesus loved") sat at the table and
reclined on Jesus' breast. That's
me! That's you! We love Him enough we'd be over there leaning
all over Him! What rest!! What a beautiful place to be. To lay your
head on the Master's chest and hear His wonderful heart beating. To visualize that blood that floods through
His veins flowing FOR US! To know that
the object of His desire is US! All that
He did, all that He suffered, was for US.
Personally. Me. You.
Our names are written in that blood, flowing through His heart, and
they're written on the palms of the Father's hands, He said so He won't forget
us! Oh what love
that is! What FAMILY that is! NO matter if you have NO family here on
earth, or if they don't care for you!
God DOES care! He's made us His
number one concern and all His commands in Heaven are very carefully
constructed around us so as not to disturb the plan He has for our wellbeing
and progress. How amazing
to hear that the angels seek to know His plans for us, and they listen
carefully and concern themselves with our lives. They rejoice when a sinner accepts Jesus, and
a new place is prepared at the Holy table of the wedding feast! That table must be very large! :) Or
many tables all together in the room. Who
will we sit near? Perhaps God
will give us a table for those who have been our friends, and we CAN share
fellowship together as we celebrate our Lord's victory! Can you imagine us being the virgin brides
dressed for our wedding? I love it! If you’ve been feeling that your life is dull and you’re unappreciated. If you have a handicap or shortage of money that has prevented you from doing what you’d love to do with this life, take heart! There is SO much more depth to the life we have right now, once we realize Jesus fully in it and begin to move in His power and love. There is SO much more life to come, both in this world and in the next. I promise you, you have not even BEGUN to imagine what we will be doing and what we will share. Pray that God gives you wisdom and opens your eyes to all the possibilities. Pray to see HIS vision
for your life both now and then. God is
so good. He has all your needs prepared
and available in His heavenly cupboard.
He has a daily transport line to your house to deliver them as they are
needed! He has a
battalion of angel warriors assigned to fight your battles for you! He has precious angels that watch over your
children, and your own life as you sleep.
You are more precious to God than you will ever know! He has laid His entire fortune and kingdom at
our feet and said, I will give it to you if you will accept my Son’s sacrifice
and come home. Be my family. Be restored to grace and righteousness
through Christ. Not because we are worth
any notice in the universe, but because HE declared us worth His notice and
created us from His own miracle substance and breathed His breath into us. This body is
made of clay and returns to the dirt of the planet, but the body we will
receive will be forever, and have no dirt in it at all! It will have NONE of the fallen nature of
this planet, and we will be forever free from sin, disease and death. This is His promise. If you will seek Him, accept Jesus and serve
Him all the days of your life. God bless
