I asked the Lord this morning for a way to understand my life and what was important for me to do.  I was feeling that I was out of the scheme of things, and perhaps wasting my time.  I have such longings to do great things, but alas, being a mother – a female, I’m often trapped in the mundane.  I realized how much energy I spend avoiding work and wondering what of all the things I do really matters.

The answer I received was a time apportionment calendar for mankind and that the secret to digging myself out of the pile of drudgery was to share the tasks with my family members equally.

This is the order we should fulfill our lives.  “Worship -Time with God - Time with family - Helping others -Maintaining our home - Maintaining our health -  Joy, Joy, and more joy should be all the rest.”

I wrote down what I was given and I hope it blesses you.  I’ve entitled it, Connection To God.

The earth without brain or hands, worships God in its very existence.  In the mists on the rolling green hills, and in the fog of the valleys, in the gentle, slow rains, and in the baking sun, - everywhere the earth rejoices in its own existence “within Him”.  So how can we, humans, be like that too?  How can we understand ourselves and rejoice in how we fit into God’s person and will?

Awareness and obedience are the keys.  Man must be aware of the gift of life and the love of his creator, and he must perform life measured out in units of time spent.  Those things a man spends his time on are the brush strokes of his masterpiece on the canvas of possibilities the Father has given us.  Those things we choose to do are the things we’ll be known by and judged by.

Worship is important.  Time with God is important.  Time with family is important.  Helping others is important.  Maintaining our home is important.  Maintaining our health is also important.  Joy, Joy, and more joy should be all the rest, in complete awareness and appreciation of our Lord’s presence as we move and live and have our being IN Him.

The connection between earth and God is that we are not separate at all, but busy “Holy Atoms” made out of our creator’s life force, performing joyful and worshipful duty and being aware that we share “all” with “all.”

We share the rain and the sun, the mountains and the valleys, and we share ourselves WITH those things.  We are part of the same God that thought of each and gave of Himself to create each, and Who maintains each with the same vibrant life force and love.  Awareness then is the way we fit into God’s will, and obedience is how we fit into His Person.

How do you communicate with a mountain, and how do you speak to a valley?  Sit quietly, listen to the hum of the earth and it will tell you the story of its ages, and all that it has seen pass by its lush and vibrant self.

When you have heard the earth speak, you’ll realize that it is intelligent and aware of itself.  It rejoices and is always obedient to its maker.  It is always fulfilling what it was created to do and be, and making good use of the time it has to enjoy every thing.

There is a season and a time for everything under the sun, and one is no more important than another and none are less important than the rest.  Even for man, there is a time to grow and a time to rest, a time to do great and honorable things and a time to do that which is necessary and private.  Eating is no more honorable than eliminating what we’ve eaten, and sex no less honorable than sleeping.

What IS dishonorable is performing any task or living a moment without awareness of why you’re doing it, and how it fits into the scheme of the plan for your life.  Or said another way, how this action you take or how this moment you spend, affects the other parts of you – the mountain, the lake, the child living next door, the old man on the corner, even the politician in Washington.  (Or your family.)

We are all given life and given a chance to live it in honor, aware of our connection to God and each other.  We dishonor ourselves and throw our lives away when we live without conscious decision, without thought for the meaning of the life, or when we ignore the needs of those around us.

The only exception is when we are living a moment in pure joy.  Joy contains within it love, and it emits gratitude.  That’s how God knows you are enjoying His gift.  Joy sends out a small light, a frequency in harmony with creation, and it lights the darkness in the universe.

Seek to live in joy, gladness of heart, total enjoyment of all that you are experiencing, and you’ll FEEL the kinship you have with your fellow man.

Have you ever stood shoulder to shoulder during a parade, and watched the soldiers walk by with the flag?  Has there been a time when something in that parade pricked a strong emotion and you understood the brotherhood you shared with them?  The reason your country fought side by side?

The person next to you could have been another skin color, from another part of the world, or another religion* (way of understanding themselves in God), and yet you shared understanding and purpose without words and without knowing his name.

*Religion is a word you should understand.  Some people use it to mean “which” God they serve, but that is ridiculous because there is only One God.  Some people use it to mean the boundaries you have set for your behavior and purpose.  Some use it as a banner in a personal crusade against what they consider “sin”.

Religion is a word God does not use, Jesus never used and that man would be better off never using.  It’s a manmade term that the enemy uses to divide us.  When a people are divided they are easily conquered.

There is a time for remembering the differences between men and a time for eliminating them in our hearts, but related to God there are only two states for mankind, the saved and the unsaved.

What is the duty of man?  I believe it is first to be aware*, second to worship, third to seek communion with God.  Next it is to manage the life he has been given, taking care of body, home and spirit and by interaction with society, (giving to others).

Said in a simpler way, figure out what must be done for God, for myself and family and for my fellow man.

If you can balance ‘work and play’, ‘time alone and time together’, ‘God time and man time’, and ‘time for us and time for others’, and wrap all you do in the ‘bread of joy’, then you’ve got a good long life that accomplishes much.

Give to each category your time and your labor and you’ll feel happy and fulfilled.

*Things to be aware of – the first gift of life (creation), the second gift of life (Jesus paying for your sins – absolutely crucial), how you are connected to everyone and everything, so that you can stop harming those around you, and finally what God’s purpose and plan for your life is.
