Have you
ever had an unexpected knock at the door when you weren’t dressed yet? Your hair all messed up
and the house looking
like a hurricane went through it overnight? Maybe it was
a brief encounter with a Fed Ex delivery or a salesman with steaks in a
dented
old freezer on the back of a smoking pickup truck! Yeah, it
happened to me this morning. A
young
black man with long locks of hair and a casually baggy white T shirt
wanted a
sale very badly. Unfortunately
I couldn’t
accommodate him, but gave him hope that after the third I’d have
something left
to make a purchase with. More
important than that, as he shook hands to leave, I blessed him in
Jesus’ name
and prayed that he’d make many sales today and be protected as he went. He was a bit
surprised I think, but a few steps into the yard, he turned and said
“And I
receive that blessing!” I don’t know
if he’ll remember how awful I looked. Disheveled, missing a portion of a front tooth, my hair
competing with
Phyllis Diller’s, etc. into infinity of what he MIGHT have thought. But I think he’ll remember
this stop for the
blessing. For
someone that counted him
worthy of being acknowledged and blessed. Now as he
goes out into the streets, perhaps he won’t be expecting only danger
and
rejections. Maybe
he’ll be wondering
where he’ll meet the next person who sees him as a human being instead
of an
annoyance. To God be the praise and glory! In Jesus’ name I send out this teaching and ask that the Word bless and heal all who read or hear it. God bless you all. God bless you! Keep looking back here for more updates and more
