Psalm
46:10-11 “Be still,
and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted
in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. How often
are we still, I mean really still... It seems that
even in repose, on the outside quiet, but what about our mindset, can we really
know what it is to be stilled? Stillness
means this...Deep silence and calm; Up to and including the present or the time
mentioned; even now (or then) as formerly quiet.. What a thought, no matter the momentary
situation, what has occurred, as was and is and is to come our security is in
Him, the very lover of our souls.. A fortress
in times of struggle and strife. As those
called by His name, we are secure in the knowledge that whatever befalls us,
nothing can change the fact that we are in His embrace, in His will and His
name is to be exalted. He is indeed
our Fortress, in times of trouble, our defense, in times of rest our abode. We are part
of a world that is at war with our very being, we will face problems on a daily
basis, we cannot avoid them. Whether it is personal, interpersonal or
governmental, all creation groans:- Romans
8:19-23 "The
creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to
frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected
it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to
decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been
groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the
first-fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption
as sons, the redemption of our bodies." Be still, be
quiet, rest in His presence, 'The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my
deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the
horn of my salvation, ' Still your
mind, this is where the battlefield is... Psalm
91:1-16 He who
dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the
Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I
trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the
deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you
will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear
the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, ... Psalm
27:1-14 Of David.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the
stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to
eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise
against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that
will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my
life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. For he
will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the
cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock. ... Be still and
know that He is God...the very lover of our souls... Is your
heart heavy?, lay your burden down at His feet. Does your
mind seem fit to burst?, rejoice with psalms and lift your voice in songs of
praise, a sure antidote to heaviness.. The word
praise is an abstract word that has no relationship with the ancient Hebrew's
concrete way of thinking. While the word halel is translated as
"praise" it is also translated as "shine" as in Job 29:3.
The original meaning of halel is the North Star. This star, unlike all of the
other stars, remains motionless and constantly shines in the northern sky and
is used as a guide when traveling. In the Ancient Hebrew mind we praise God by
looking at him as the guiding star that shines to show us our direction. The
first letter in this Hebrew word (from right to left) is a picture of a man
with his arms raised up as pointing toward something of greatness. The second
two letters are pictures of a shepherd staff which is used by the shepherd to
move his flock toward a direction. When these two letters are combined the idea
of looking toward something is formed. To God be the praise and glory! In Jesus’ name I send out this teaching and ask that the Word bless and heal all who read or hear it. God bless you all. God bless you! Keep looking back here
