Do you feel unlovely
today? Unlovable? Do you know that when you are at your worst, you are the most
lovely? Father said His strength
was made perfect in our weakness. If we were all exactly
like Him right now, all mini gods with perfect speech, perfect hair, sculpted
bodies and high IQ's, we'd be the most boring people in the universe! I think God looks down to
the earth and sees little ones who cry and falter, and His heart is pricked to
lift us up like a small bird with a wounded wing. He knows His own beauty
and perfection, and sees us, individual and flawed, and that's what makes us so
beautiful to Him. We're works in progress. We're His idea and expression. He
made us, maybe trillions of us over the history of earth, and so that each of
us wouldn't be all the same, He gave us each a small twist, so there'd be an
infinite variety of His beloveds. Each one unique and wrapped in His love. I've heard that in Heaven
there are more colors than on earth. More variations of everything! Remember
the first time you saw a skein of yarn that was variegated? (Changed colors
along the thread line). It was fascinating to me! The jewels at the Walmart
counter (real or fake), are more beautiful when there is something different
that sets one apart from the other. The depth of the sparkle inside, the colors
it reflects. Oh how I long to see those
colors in heaven, and to be able to really SEE into the gemstones and
investigate their cuts and quirks. So when we go through our
temper tantrums and our sins, and we move closer to God and seek to perfect
ourselves to be like Him, we add depth to our character. More wisdom, more love,
more forgiving, so that when someone looks deep into us, they see our history,
our pain, our success and our progress. God can see so much better than we can,
that we're absolutely lovely and moving ahead as we should be. All we need do is stop
focusing on ourselves. Stop looking INSIDE of us, because what we need is
coming from HIM. Look to HIM. Determine to look at each other in a new way.
Instead of always seeing the faults of your family member or coworker, etc.,
look for what makes them special! See if you can discover
what God loves about them, even when they are so mean and horrible that no one
can stand to be near them. I know a few people like
that, who have been so cruel to others I wonder why they haven't been struck by
lightning! But then I know why. God sees the WHY of their cruelty and the
POSSIBLE person they can become. They need love and healing. There may only be a tiny
spark of something left in that mean person to love, but there IS SOMETHING, if
we look for it. And if we can't see it, claim it by the fact that Jesus died
for them too. God counted them worthy and valuable. Just as He does you. No
matter what you do, or have done. No matter how poor you are, or how bad you've screwed up. No matter if you have leprosy and your skin is falling off. You're LOVED! You're WORTHY! You are worthy of being loved by each of us! I've been hammered like a steel drum, each dent placed in the
perfect spot to produce the clearest, most delightful sound when struck. Lord help me to love and to "ring" with truth and
adoration. Let my existence glorify you with every word and every deed. All
